Specialized Services from Russell Education
In addition to our usual academic and test prep services, our tutors can provide:
Online Learning Guidance
Multiple short check-ins during the week on an individualized schedule to help students of any age stay on top of their multiple online activities, assignments, and responsibilities. We aim to relieve parents of that burden and have arranged to offer this service for as little as $90/hour.
Life Direction Work
Your children are working hard at school—or maybe not so hard. Do they know the purpose of their work? Many students aren’t given a structured process with which to reflect on their hopes and dreams, examine the challenges they will need to overcome, discover resources to help them do the necessary work, and develop the growth mindset key to achieving their goals. We have highly skilled staff who can lead students through this process, which can ultimately develop greater drive, determination, resiliency, and accomplishment. When students see that academic success is instrumental in realizing their own dreams, amazing things can happen!
Early Test Prep
Beginning the test prep process before 11th grade offers significant advantages: more time to review math and grammar content, more time to master effective reading strategies, an earlier “wake up call” to students who don’t realize how challenging the SAT or ACT can be for some. These tests are not comparable to the assessments usually found in school; even excellent students often struggle and are discouraged by the gap between their grades and their standardized test scores. Identifying potential problem areas early can help in planning, and, of course, recruited athletes are often required to submit scores well before 11th grade. One-on-one or group sessions available.
Online or In-person “Pod Learning”
If you and a few other families wish to have your children work together while they are not in school, we have tutors for all ages who are willing to work in-person or online with small groups. Pricing varies but is designed to be modest when multiple families participate.
Curriculum Depth
As the school year progresses, if you find that your child isn't learning as much as you'd like, our tutors can lead them into deeper exploration of their school curriculum.
Online or In-person Enrichment
Need more activity for your children than what their school delivers? Our tutors have passions they would love to share, ranging from quantum physics to gardening, psychology to sign language, arts and crafts to sports, dance, and social justice. Or perhaps your children have passions of their own that you'd like them to explore with professional guidance. Name the field—we probably have someone who knows it. Where possible, these tutorials will include activities that take children away from their screens.
